Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Political Science (or related field) with at least 12 graduate semester hours in qualifying fields, including a minimum of 6 graduate semester hours from Political Science. Physical Demands This position is in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Requires ability to lift up to 10 lbs occasionally, open filing cabinets, bend or stand as necessary. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Typical Duties and Responsibilities Instruction Teach courses in accordance with outcomes identified in the established course development model, using effective instructional delivery methods. Participate in the design of appropriate courses and programs of instruction, maintaining curriculum currency and collaborating in revision as needed. Demonstrate satisfactory preparation and meet with classes as scheduled. Build rapport with students; solicit and use student feedback to improve teaching and learning practices. Establish a clear and accurate syllabus for each class, posting it in Canvas and communicating objectives, processes, evaluation policies, and attendance policies. Evaluate and record student performance, provide feedback, and maintain appropriate office hours. Collaborate with support services and recommend accommodations as required. Monitor and communicate with students about academic progress, using early alert tools and other mechanisms to identify at‑risk students. Maintain accurate attendance reports and deliver timely progress grades. Participate in outcomes assessment measurements adopted by EICC, plan and implement learning strategies, analyze results, and make revisions. Involvement with the College and EICC District Serve on college and district committees, work groups, and task forces. Attend and participate in scheduled faculty, college, district, and advisory meetings. Assist the college in recruitment and retention of students. Serve as an active department team member and demonstrate professionalism at all times. Support the EICC mission, values, and high‑expectations culture. Perform all other duties as assigned. Professional Development Retain professional qualifications that meet or exceed those required for the position. Actively maintain professional development activity and records per the Quality Faculty Plan. Participate in professional meetings, workshops, and college/district professional development activities. Remain active and current in one's professional field and in pedagogical best practices.
